100 Miles · Route
The first 52kms of the route will be in a flat terrain with some steep slopes where we will border the Arenal volcano and the Arenal lake passing through the Caño Negro and Chiquito rivers until we reach the town of Tronadora. The speeds in this section will be high. In addition to benefiting from being the start of the competition where we will be well physically, there will be groups that benefit from riding faster and the cool weather of the dawn, but do not trust this, save energy for the last 80kms that will be the most demanding… Of the 6 aid stations that the route has, we recommend that you use them all, since it is a very long and demanding route.
Rarely are there so many places of interest in a competition or training such as this. Arenal volcano, Arenal lake, Pelado hill, the Tilarán Wind farms, Rincón de la Vieja volcano and the Miravalles volcano can be enjoyed along the route. Also, the Tenorio volcano, Cote lake and the Concepción volcano in the distance on Ometepe Island in Nicaragua can be viewed.
* The route will be marked, with volunteers and traffic support, but remember that at all times you must respect the traffic signs. Please do not invade the left lane and be cautious.
